With several silveroranges working on the Mozilla Visual Identity Team, we’re proud to have the latest product of the team’s great work out in public. The new Mozilla Thunderbird logo and icon set was based on sketches by our own Stephen DesRoches, and was drawn in it’s beautiful final incarnation by the talented Jon Hicks of Hicks Design in the UK.
We’re having a great time working with the Mozilla team and the other great volunteers on the design team. We’re looking forward to doing more cool work with them.
The process of working through the design took place using our silverorange Intranet – particularly helpful given the spanning of continents and time zones of our team. For more details on the fascinating process behind the design of the Thunderbird artwork at Jon Hick’s weblog.

I don't know if he looks like a "thunderbird" though. The bird looks so sweet and kind! They should rename it to Mozilla Mommabird. Look its cradling the letter. j/k great job on the logo!

You’re right, 16px isn’t great, but I’m working on it. Although I like it more now that people have referred to it as ‘the wig’!!
